One night, numerous tiny organisms, ominously dubbed "parasites," drifted onto the sea surface. Their target was to parasitize the human brain, instigating people to turn against each other in a frenzy of violence.

In 2012, humanity was ultimately brought down by a virus. Robert Neville (played by Will Smith), a former military virologist, survived as the only human in New York City due to his natural antibodies preventing infection. He even once believed he was the sole survivor of humanity worldwide.

The film follows the story of nurse Caroline, who goes to care for the male owner of a remote and ancient house only to become entangled in a series of conspiracies. Perplexing events unfold, prompting Caroline to determine to uncover these secrets and dispel the witchcraft. In order to save herself and the male owner, she embarks on a journey to unravel the mysteries.

The film is adapted from the 1999 video game of the same name and follows the story of a mother, Rose, who discovers that her adopted daughter, Sharon, is suffering from a mysterious mental illness. Sharon cries out "Silent Hill" in her sleep while sleepwalking. In an effort to solve the problem, Rose takes Sharon to the place called Silent Hill.
