A brutal and global war is on the verge of breaking out. Lieutenant William Cage (played by Tom Cruise), who has never experienced any actual combat, finds himself in a time loop where he wakes up on the day before a mission each time he dies. This allows him to repeatedly return to the battlefield despite his lack of combat experience.

The film tells the story of a soldier, Jack, assigned to a remote planet for a reconnaissance mission. On the planet, he encounters a fierce alien tribe and a beautiful woman stranded there due to a spaceship crash. As the soldier engages with the woman, he begins to question his worldview.
