The film is adapted from the 1999 video game of the same name and follows the story of a mother, Rose, who discovers that her adopted daughter, Sharon, is suffering from a mysterious mental illness. Sharon cries out "Silent Hill" in her sleep while sleepwalking. In an effort to solve the problem, Rose takes Sharon to the place called Silent Hill.
